How Long Have You Been in the Data Analytics Space and Why Data Analytics?

I was introduced to the Data Analytics Space by a friend in the year 2021. Data Analytics is fun to learn because of the dynamic ways the data can be used and insight that can be derived from it.

What Are The Challenges You Face as a Data Analyst?

The challenges faced are choosing the right estimation tool or template to use. How to adequately clean the data also poses a major challenge in the ETL phase.

How do you manage your role as a Data Analyst and a Procurement Officer?

For now, I only apply the knowledge on a basic level to my current role at work.

How do the skills you have acquired as a Data Analyst make your job more efficient as a Procurement Officer?

It has enabled me to easily observe trends in my data, forecast better and more accurately than before.

What role did Utiva play in your Journey in becoming a Data analyst?

Utiva enlightened me on the massive benefits the knowledge of adequate data understanding and manipulation can bring.

What Do You Aim To Achieve In The Next 12 Months In Relation To What You Currently Do in Tech? 

I aim to create a holistic dashboard that simplifies my job’s multiple worksheets, making it more detailed.

What are your Final Words?

I would like to use this medium to advise newbies in the tech space not to be scared to take on challenges. Also, they should always look for more avenues to learn more and improve on what they already know, because no knowledge is hard to acquire.

Temitope was born in Ibadan into a family of four, happily married with three children. She graduated from Ladoke Akintola University of technology. She currently works with Rite Foods Limited as a Procurement officer.

As a Data Analyst at The RootHub, she applies business and data analysis skills to help clients solve complex problems and optimise their performance. She has an additional certificate in Data Analytics and a certificate in Foundations from Coursera, which equipped her with the theoretical and practical knowledge of data science, statistics, and visualization tools.
